Ensure that support is available ( a frame or nearby chair) for the patient if you suspect that they may have any balance problems. This test clears movements of the hip, knee and ankle and is an indicator of balance and coordination. If patient can perform a full squat without any discomfort, means he passes this test.
Standing on Toes. Next ask your patient to rise onto their toes. This further assesses foot and ankle range, muscle strength and balance. If patient can perform a standing on toes without any discomfort, means he passes this test.
